The origin of Flipper Fanny

So what's with the name Flipper Fanny?

It all goes back to my mother's trip to Miami Beach when she was venturing out on her own from Illinois. She was sitting by the pool at a hotel when a photographer from the local paper snapped her picture. The next day, there she was on the front page with the headling, Flipper Fanny Flaps her Fins. (Where the fins came from, my brothers and I never knew).

Anyway, when it came time to figure out a name for my old fashioned wholesome baked goods, I decided to name them Flipper Fanny's Cookies and more.

happy nightmare before Christmas

It's almost over. Fanny has been baking her fanny off, filling holiday orders. She just delivered a huge chocolate party cake and 35 gift boxes of assorted cookies to a Santa Cruz restaurant where a client was holding a party for employees. This is after delivering 360 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to Hunter Hill winery.

Now, she will catch a breath before preparing for a huge New Year's Eve wedding. It's great to be busy, but it can also wear a person out.
